Walk With The Wise
When was the last time you went looking for something in the wrong place? This leads to discouragement and often causes people to give up looking.
Picture yourself walking in a strawberry field, ready to pick berries. It can take some time and perseverance to walk slowly, turning over the leaves to find something sweet and ripe. If the soil isn’t right, nothing worthwhile will grow. You’d have to move into a field with a better environment to find the healthier berries.
Consider this image as you look for wise friendships. Today, so many people are looking for community, but are seeking in places where they won't find godly, wise friends. Proverbs 13:20 says, “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” As you search for friends, consider whether your companionships are marked by wisdom and Christlikeness or by foolishness. Is it time to start walking in a better place?
