Canyon Ridge is teaming up with the Department of Family Services to provide backpacks for foster kids around Las Vegas until July 24! This is your chance to impact children in the community and start their year off right! Then, stop by on July 25 and help get backpacks ready for DFS and their upcoming backpack distribution day.

Being a Foster Parent is a tremendous responsibility, and it can be difficult to find regular respite care. On the third Friday of every month, from 6p – 9p, Canyon Ridge Christian Church would like to serve the foster parents of our community by providing free respite care. During that time, your children and your foster children will have a fun, safe, and nurturing time so that you can take some time to rest, catch a movie, go out with your spouse, and more! Space is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis.

* Open for children ages birth – 5th grade.

* For all foster caregivers (licensed, unlicensed, relative, fictive kin)

Rally your people and learn how to be a part of surrounding, supporting, and loving families and kids in foster care. There are approximately 3,400 children in Clark County foster care. You can make a difference in the lives of kids in foster care by supporting their families or jumping in and becoming a foster family!

Join together with other foster parents from all over Las Vegas area for an evening of encouragement and training. This dinner is done in partnership with our Community Care Partner Foster Connect and Canyon Ridge’s Foster Ministry, Fostering Life, and our Foster Parent Support Group that meets the 1st, 2nd, 4th and some 5th Friday Nights of the month.

Discover how you can connect with children experiencing a difficult time and help them heal and become all God desires for them to be. The Hope for the Journey Conference is a one-day conference led by the TCU Institute for Child Development for anyone who helps children from hard places find a better life. This conference is ideal not only for adoptive and foster parents, ministry leaders, and professionals but also parents and educators who deal with any children who come from hard places and it is designed to help them connect with the children in order to help them heal and become all that God desires for them to be.

Cost: $20 for regular attender

Childcare will be provided for ages 0-5th grade
